Plastic Surgery Feels Pinch

According to an article in the International Herald Tribune by Natash Singer on 15th March 2010 “The number of tummy tucks, facelifts, breast implant procedures and other cosmetic plastic surgeries fell by about 18 percent last year in the United States, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported in a study. The group attributed the decline to the recession.” The study does not attribute any changes that are affected by Americans travelling overseas or to Phuket International Aesthetic Center for plastic surgery, as it has been noted that the number of patients seeking breast augmentation and other plastic surgery procedures in Thailand has grown consistently over the last five years. Our interpretation of the study is that Americans are more cost sensitive, and are increasing unwilling to pay excessive prices for their plastic surgery in America. More Americans have realised that travelling overseas to places like Phuket International Aesthetic Center saves considerable amounts of money and the quality is equivalent to the plastic surgery they can achieve at home.
