Different Types of Tummy Tuck
August 6, 2019
Tummy tuck is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures performed today. Factors like multiple pregnancies, genetics and even substantial weight loss can contribute to the development of loose skin, fat deposits, and stretch marks in the abdominal region. The type of tummy tuck will be determined by the amount of excess skin.
Mini Tummy Tuck
Recommended to clients who require only a small amount of contouring. A mini tummy tuck may be the ideal procedure for achieving a flat, smooth stomach.
The cut is made on the lower abdomen but it is not extended from hip bone to hip bone.
Standard Tummy Tuck
Also called a traditional tummy tuck. A procedure that removes excess skin, fat and stretch marks from the abdominal area and tightens the abdominal muscles.
The incision is usually made on the lower abdomen, usually at the same level of your pubic hair and extend the cut from hip bone to hip bone. It may be in a V-cut or U-cut shape so that the scar can be hidden in a bikini.
Extended Tummy Tuck
Also called as expanded abdominoplasty. A procedure in which the surgeon removes a large amount of loose abdominal and flank skin. Abdominal muscles is tightened through a low scar that runs along the lower flanks, abdomen and pubic area.
The surgeon makes a low abdominal incision across the pubic area, extended beyond the hip area and extend more towards the back. A new belly button may be created if the loose skin and muscle weakness are inadequate to the area beneath the navel.
